Mood Swings
Emotions,
capricious,
unreliable sorts
come and go
mostly unsolicited.
Marauding anger
shoots word bullets
creating untold
damage in his wake.
Pitiful twins
guilt and regret
make allowances
for all that mudslinging.
Oh to see joy,
such a gleeful fellow,
never around
long enough.
Rueful sadness
always lamenting about
something or other,
gave me a case
of the blue devils
last time.
Invited happiness
to stay on permanently,
but he couldn’t
tolerate all these
temperamental fools
swinging by at
all hours.
