Vulnerable

hold me
close
in this
sacred space,
till I learn
to hold myself.
breath
into me
saving grace,
till I learn
my own strength.
show me
how to fly
outside
time and space.
but should
I falter
take
my hand,
just in case.

Melancholia (revised)

Melancholy clouds
flock, fringing on lunacy—
her dark mood hovers

A somber veil
shrouds her senses
the taste of numbness
on her tongue

Shadow has her
in its clutches
her silent tears
unwrung

Sorrow tips the scale
