Hello Friends!

I am a forty-something woman who is going through the transformation of her life! Uranus is opposing me all the way. Mid-life is never easy for any woman. It is there that  she finds herself at a crossroads. What have I accomplished in the last forty years, may be the question that enters her mind. Well let’s see, I’ve raised four babies, helped a man to succeed, experienced travel through a very transient life, took a few college classes here and there. Put on weight, taken off weight, and put weight back on. Devoted myself to my religion. Created a lovely home. Whew! I’ve accomplished a lot if I say so myself. I have a lot to be thankful for. I am happily married to the love of my life, I have four amazing grown children, three fantastic in-law children, two precious granddaughters, and a life that allows me to do anything I want.

Now for the real question that most women contemplate in mid-life, Who am I? And this is where I was just a few years back. Actually I am still asking myself this question. I haven’t quite figured it out, but I will. I’m an Aquarius, what can I say. We don’t give up until we know all the inner workings. With Uranus opposing the shadow of my real self, at the crossroads all kinds of interesting things began to happen, some good and some not so good. I’ll just stick with the good  for now.

First, I left my life long religion for a more ‘spiritually enriching’ lifestyle, no more self-guilt baby! I took up meditation and yoga. Not that contort my body like a pretzel kind of yoga either. No this is much more difficult. That kind of yoga that brings you to your knees kind and makes you question all of life. I’m still an amateur but making some headway.

Secondly, I discovered that I have a poet’s heart after all. Most of my life I never colored outside the lines, if you know what I mean. I did not know how to step outside the box, for me it was sealed shut. One day, through some less fortunate experiences, Pandora’s Box was opened and I have never been able  to shut it since. Since that damn box was opened I have experienced every emotion in the human experience, it hasn’t all been pretty either, some of it was downright ugly. I believe to get to the real Self you have to go through the shadows to get to the light.

I discovered that I don’t just love to read poetry, I love to write it as well, and I’m not half bad from what I hear;) I have also taken up photography and I have developed this obsession with astrology. I am determined to learn it enough to call myself an astrologer. That one may take a while;) I have decided to focus on the journey and not where it ends. Does it matter what the journey produces? As long as I’m having the time of my life along the way, that is good enough for me.

So come into my world, we can share a cup of coffee or tea…I happen to love both! I love meeting new people and sharing in their journeys as well as my own. People come into our lives for a reason, whether to help us or hinder us. They both  serve a purpose for our growth. So let’s go forward together and find our purpose. It may just be an adventure:)

Blessings,

Nirvani

  1. Hi Jennifer, thanks for stopping by and for following my scribbling. I’m looking forward to reading some of your poetry as well. Hope that 2013 is good for you and Uranus doesn’t block your progress too much.

  2. Hi, just passing through…you have a nice blog. Kudos for the love of poetry. Where are you located? That’s a pretty awesome name as well, “The Cosmic Poet”. I am actually writing a book in the similar dimensions of that name. Nice to have passed by 🙂

  3. Welcome! So thrilled you are discovering yourself and the world, it’s never too late. I write both essays and Haiku, I write free-style or follow prompts. Do what you feel comfortable and sometimes what you don’t feel comfortable with. Any questions, just feel free and ask. I’m here. Best of luck!

  4. Hi, Jennifer. Thank you for your visit to my blog and choosing to follow it. And thus directing me to yours! I have been reading your poetry and already see how inspired and lyrical you are. Blessings, Diane

  5. Hello! thank you so much for checking out my blog and following me, I truly appreciate it 🙂

I quite enjoy reading your writing, in a way it inspires me, so thank you for that.

    have a great day

  6. Greetings! I write to nominate you for a Versatile Blogger Award. To be honest, you don’t win a prize or medal or any such thing. Rather, this is a simple commendation from one blogger to others regarding the value of your work, and it has the potential of expanding your audience (and also, I surmise, that of others, to include the founders of VBA). To accept, use this link.
    http://versatilebloggeraward.wordpress.com/
Once there, check the VBA rules to decide whether you want to accept.

  7. Imagine how I felt! No, you sent it to me by mistake I am sure. It was u saying you got some aware before and you were forwarding it to someone else. I don’t know how you got my email address. Had it come to my blog I would have understood a little bit more. I hope you find the right person it belongs to.

    1. Ohhhh this is about the versatile blogger award…how strange that it would go to your email. I have no idea how that happened…don’t worry I do not have your email address in case you are worried it got out somehow. I was just responding to the man who posted here nominating me for the award…I do follow your blog though:)

  8. I continue to enjoy your work and have named you to receive the “Very Inspiring Blog” award. Check my site for details in about an hour. – AB at Mild Musings of a Mediocre Man

      1. Hi Laurie, I have no idea why you would be receiving an email with anything from me. I am assuming wordpress is responsible. I have never added you to any list. I only follow your blog that is all. This has happened in the past between us if you recall. I am as baffled as you are. Eva left a nomination for this award to me on my about page of my blog, why you would receive that in an email is beyond me. I am scratching my head frankly and sorry for any inconvenience, but I swear I have no clue.

        Warmly,
        Nirvani

      2. I totally believe you and I know it from the past. But each first second I think I am being rewarded and then have a sad face for 30 seconds. YOU DESERVE IT. congrats.

          Warm wishes, Laurie http://hibernationnow.wordpress.com

  10. Hello! And nice to meet you here! Thanks for the follow, I will be taking peeking in. And by the way, if you have not heard of Ramana Maharshi, check him out…..one of the centuries greatest sages who encouraged people to investigate deeply the question “Who Am I?”…..shanti…

    1. Hello Kai! Sorry I am just seeing this post…Thank you very much for stopping in and your lovely post. I love Ramana Maharshi. 14. awakening to the life poetic as well as astrologic and erotic is an amazing gift. certainly worthy of a nice gaiwan of oolong. i deeply rejoice in this expression of being.

      1. Also the 36-42 phase of Jupiter does tend to be more transpersonal in nature: physical, emotional, intellectual, spiritual phase of development…

  15. Hi Nirvani, thank you for sharing your thoughts.
Your poetry is sensory and evocative. Very nice indeed.
