Ignorance is Bliss

Ignorance is Bliss

‘I was blind and now I see.’
What do you see?
Your own blindness?
The way insensitivity
Flows from the callous thought
And pours like fine wine
From your cultivated mouth?
Bitter dregs for the rest of us.
An outfit of indifference
Adorns your body,
A lovely shade of grey,
At least that’s what I see
When I take off my rosy glasses.
You take your dogma
For a walk everyday.
The incessant barking
Never seems to bother you.
You didn’t notice
He’d been shitting
In my yard.
Ignorance is bliss.
Until someone’s dogma
Shits in your yard.
That’s when you
Really see.
