Making Up

Making Up

Waking up in the morning
on the wrong side,
Dyspeptic outbursts spat out
like daggers meant to maim.
A cacophony of chaos ensues,
radio-reactive poisoning.
A large serving of remorse
for breakfast, the only antidote.

Sleeping on the couch
still on the wrong side,
Silent compunctions wafting
through the atmosphere, thick
enough to cut with a knife.
A failed attempt at damage control,
bringing out the big dogs.
Actions speak louder than words.
Make-up sex the healing balm.
