The Clay Mask

No nourishment of life

for this weary man,

the shell begins to shatter.

An old and worn clay mask

of superficial matter

is all that remains

of this living cadaver,

 what lie underneath

all the debris is even sadder.

    1. Thank you! I was never into rhyme either, but recently I’ve tried my hand at it and it can be so much fun! I did this piece for a little contest. It had to be exactly 39 words. I love these little challenges 🙂
