Moon in Aries

William-Adolphe Bougeureau, Mood

Moon in Aries

Passions flare,

she seeks to fill the needs

of her indomitable will.

They ignite in rapture,

scorching her mind,

uncontainable.

Effeminate fire,

she fails to quell the flames

of her turbulent heart.

They burn in ecstasy,

searing her soul

uncontrollable.

Desires abate,

she attempts to cool the ardor

of her rapacious impulses.

They simmer in reticence,

sustaining her composure,

unpredictable.

Emotions dissipate;

she resolves to soothe her Self

of her poignant maladies.

They smolder in abeyance,

pacifying her pride,

undeniable.

  1. I’ve always adored Bougeureau; your poem compliments it nicely. You will have to excuse me; I am not very good at commenting. Thank you for stopping by my blog. I used to have a lot more poetry, but I stripped it a couple of years ago. We’ll see how it goes. But Thank you.
